The ED75 is a general-purpose locomotive dedicated to AC designed with an emphasis on versatility as a successor to the ED71 as the Joban Line was AC electrified to Hira Station (currently Iwaki Station) in 1963. The 0s are the group that manufactured 160 cars for the Tohoku Main Line and Joban Line. It was responsible for the operation of the Tohoku Main Line (north of Kuroiso) and Joban Line from Hira to Aomori, and was active in various scenes from freight trains to general passenger cars and blue train towing.
