●The EF510 300 series is an AC/DC electric locomotive that appeared as a successor to the ED76 and EF81, which were responsible for freight trains throughout Kyushu. Based on the EF510 0 series operated in Honshu, the specifications have been modified to accommodate Kyushu's ground facilities, and it is characterized by being equipped with AC regenerative brakes to reduce power consumption in freight rail transport, in order to "realize a green society" as stated in the "JR Freight Group Long-Term Vision 2030".
